Volumes console

Overview

Select Storage Service > Volumes to show the volumes console.

Select a volume to view volume details.

You can take the following actions on volumes.

• Edit volumes (update the name or description)
• Delete volumes (permanently delete the volume)
• Transfer ownership and accept ownership of volumes
• Attach volumes to instances
• Create volume snapshots (which are a point-in-time copy of the data stored in a volume)
• Create volume backups (which are a comprehensive copy of the volume's data, including its contents, configuration, and metadata)
• Create a clone of an existing volume
• Upload volume to image to create a new image of an existing volume (captures the current state of a volume, including its data, configuration, and content)
• Make a volume bootable
• Extend a volume’s capacity
